Since Phil said he's going to need a few more weeks to put together his Gundam game, and Ninja Burger got off to a rocky start, I'm considering giving good ole Jovian Chronicles a tap to fill in the interim during the game nights.
No story, just some crazy dogfighting in Gundam inspired mecha like how it just started. I'm going to be modding it to run a bit faster (no more inertial effects to clog up book keeping) and cutting some of the more complex elements (called shots on the chopping block for now). And it'll certainly help that I know the rules like the back of my hand. As long as we don't get sandbagging, fights are fast, fun, furious, and memorable with death very near in each encounter. No super mecha, just grunt models.
With any luck, it'll only whet the appetite for the Gundam based game coming up and get you all in the proper mood. I'd like to get a heads up so I can dust off and repair some of the models. So who's interested?

I would!
...if I only knew how to play these games. x.x

This is mostly proposing what we should be doing on the usual game night. And naturally, we're willing to teach new guys. The basic rules are easy enough and each player gets a reference sheet. Not to mention a good portion of the possible players have played it before to help people along.
You never forget the first time you shank someone with a plasma lance...or get a critical structural failure on the system damage roll.

Ah, that was good. It was good to run a simple JC session once more. A few kinks, but nothing show stopping. I think I'll add terrain next go around but that's it. I don't feel like tossing out capital ships just yet.
Good job for surviving your first real engagement Joey. You picked it up without too much of a hitch, besides being colossally fisted by a Fury, but that's okay. Memories are the things that happen when you least expect it.
How'd it feel to be back in the saddle Phil and Jason? It seems like you haven't forgotten too much. I don't think I've quite seen a Pathfinder suck quite that much damage in a while.
And of course, silly fragile chassis. I'm really starting to dislike CEGA with their flying deathtraps.

4 heavy damage hits...
One more hit would have toasted me too.
Fun though. I'm all for more simple tactical battles.

Would this week's game day be fine for a second round (in the background of the Gundam game prep)?

Character creation and JC on Sunday.
My house is mostly put back together at this point, so I may be able to host this Sunday.

Excellent. I'll see if I can host backup just in case.
